Mary Ann Clemens, Ed.D., FACHE
Special Advisor to the Dean for Accreditation, Assessment & Evaluation, and Compliance
Mary Ann Clemens is currently serving as the Special Advisor to he Dean at the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine. She received her Doctorate in education leadership from Northern Illinois University when her career in medicine and curriculum began.
Mary Ann launched her work in medical education in Chicago at Northwestern University Medical School, Chicago Health Department, and the CDC in infections disease prevention. This tenure included various research projects to measure the effectiveness of different forms of patient education in public health clinics throughout Chicago.
Mary Ann has previously served as a curriculum designer at The Chicago Medical School of Rosalind Franklin University. She also served at RFUMS as a Clinical Associate Professor in Medicine teaching literature in medicine courses. She was the Chair of the Evaluation and Assessment Committee and a member of the Institutional Review Board. She also served previously a Vice President of Medical Education and Research at Advocate Health Care. Areas of responsibility included development and implementation of key financial and administrative policies and procedures while supervising associates responsible for undergraduate, graduate and continuing medical education. While at Advocate Health Care, Mary Ann also served as a senior ethics consultant and educator for hospitals and 300 sites of care. She served as faculty at RFUMS and on the board for OPTI at Midwestern University.
Mary Ann is currently serving as a journal reviewer for the International Association of Medical Science Educators, Medical Science Educator. She is also on faculty at the University of Illinois in the Medical Education Department. She is a Fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives and a current member of the Washington State Health Care Forum.
