Who We Are
To recruit, develop, and retain exceptional family medicine physicians who are ideally suited for rural practice in the 21st century.
Our graduates will be competent, caring, compassionate, and ethical physicians who are at home in rural Washington and are culturally competent in the primary care of a diverse rural population.
We train family medicine physicians to:
- Provide comprehensive, team-based care for patients with a broad range of medical conditions and across the spectrum of acute illness, chronic illness, and preventative health planning;
- Lead multidisciplinary teams within Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCHM) in rural and underserved areas;
- Be culturally competent to serve diverse populations in rural communities; and
- Be effective and efficient lifelong learners, striving to understand our diverse, ever-changing population of patients.
