General Surgery, Virginia Mason Medical Center
I was born and raised in Korea before immigrating to Mukilteo, WA in 8th grade. I attended University of Washington where I received my degree in biochemistry, then came straight to Spokane for medical school afterwards. I have a cat named Lye.
My medical school journey
I am grateful for Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine’s unique clinical opportunities, as I was able to rotate in Everett, Vancouver, and Tri-Cities during my fourth year.
Throughout medical school, I was fortunate to help take care of patients in all four corners of the state, and the experience solidified my aspiration to return to Washington after training to help the needs of patients in Washington,” says Kim.
Hopes & Aspirations
Currently, I’m looking at colorectal surgery as fellowship. During and after residency, I hope to incorporate technology and education into my career.
