About Me

I am originally from Bothell, Washington and attended the University of Washington where I earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology. As an undergrad, I spent time in Lima, Peru volunteering on a mobile clinic trip. After completing my undergraduate studies, I worked as a patient service specialist and volunteered in a neonatal intensive care unit.

My medical school journey

As a member of the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine Class of 2022, it has been an honor to join in the mission to serve the communities of my home state of Washington. I am so thankful to have been part of a medical school community that encourages innovation and fully supports students in taking care of both our patients and ourselves,” says Fernandes.

Hopes & Aspirations

I am passionate about children’s health and hope to build a career as a pediatric hospitalist serving urban underserved communities in Washington. I am also interested in global health and would like to someday be a part of an international medical team helping provide high-quality medical care to communities in need throughout the world.
