  • Early May 2019
    • AMCAS application opens
  • End of May 2019
    • Submission of the AMCAS application begins
  • End of June 2019
    • The transmission of verified AMCAS applications begins
    • Verification of secondary requirements begins. If met, secondary applications will be sent. Please be sure you meet the secondary requirements before submitting and paying for AMCAS. We do not make any exceptions to the secondary requirements.
  • July 15, 2019
    • Recommended date to submit your AMCAS application
      It is important to submit an earlier application, if possible (along with all required supporting documents), to allow for more processing time, secondary completion, if applicable, and have more opportunities for interviews. This is not an official deadline. The AMCAS official deadline is October 15, 2019. This date simply serves as an encouragement to complete the application packet as early as possible.

    • Interview season
  • October 1, 2019, 11:59 p.m., Eastern Standard Time
    • Deferred Deadline
      Only applies to those who were granted deferral from the previous entering year.
  • October 1, 2019
    • First day to submit the FAFSA
      Explore financial aid information and scholarship opportunities at the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine. This is required for any accepted applicants who want to be considered for scholarships.
  • October 15, 2019, 11:59 p.m., Eastern Standard Time
  • October 2019 – March 2020
    • Regular season, rolling acceptances made
  • December 1, 2019, 11:59 p.m., Pacific Standard Time
    • Deadline to submit your secondary application
      The application and fee must be submitted. There are no extensions for any reason.
  • February 2020
    • AMCAS “Plan to Enroll” option becomes available on AMCAS applicant portal.
      • “Plan to Enroll” communicates to schools who have made an offer of acceptance that the applicant has made a choice about where they intend to enroll. “Plan to Enroll” options can be changed by an applicant at any time in the AMCAS portal as they receive additional offers or change their mind.

  • March 2020
    • Waitlist decisions are communicated to applicants interviewed but not yet made an offer. All applicants denied admission will have been notified by this point.
  • March – August 2020
    • Waitlist offer period.
  • April 2020
    • Second Look Visit
      If you are an admitted applicant, you will be invited to visit campus for this event.
    • Financial aid and scholarship information delivered
      The College will strive to provide information about your financial aid and scholarship package before the Second Look Visit.
  • April 15, 2020
  • April 30, 2020
    • $100 pre-enrollment deposit due
      You will receive an email notice about the deposit in March. Refunds are available before April 30. If you enroll in the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine, your deposit will be deducted from your tuition.
    • AMCAS applicant protocols indicate that applicants hold no more than one acceptance from this point forward.
    • AMCAS “Commit to Enroll” option becomes available on AMCAS applicant portal.
      • “Commit to Enroll” communicates to schools that the applicant has made their final decision and has withdrawn from all other medical schools.
      • “Plan to Enroll” can still be used at this point if the applicant wants to hold on to the offer of acceptance but is on waitlists at other schools and may commit to another school should an offer be made.

  • July 15, 2020
    • All prerequisites must be complete and required degree earned.
  • August 12 – 14, 2020
    • Orientation and classes begin
  • August 17, 2020
    • First day of class
