{"id":4191,"date":"2023-08-09T14:07:19","date_gmt":"2023-08-09T21:07:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/medicine.wsu.edu\/md\/?page_id=4191"},"modified":"2025-09-11T11:22:00","modified_gmt":"2025-09-11T18:22:00","slug":"emergency-fund-request","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/medicine.wsu.edu\/md\/student-affairs\/wsu-college-of-medicine-forms\/emergency-fund-request\/","title":{"rendered":"Emergency Funding"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">University Emergency Funding and Resources<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Washington State University offers financial support and resources for students in need, including emergency grant funding and referrals to a variety of campus and state resources.<br>Eligible students can submit a Student Emergency Funding Request and may receive an emergence assistance grant of up to $500 per academic year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">College of Medicine Emergency Funding<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wsu-spacing-after--xsmall\">The Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine has an additional fund for students in need of emergency financial support. The Emergency Fund provides up to $1,000 per individual request to WSU College of Medicine medical students. Funds are awarded based on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Hardship: Students must demonstrate an unexpected hardship.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Limited Financial Resources: Students must demonstrate that they have no or few viable options for other sources of funds.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>More than $1,000 may be considered depending on the emergency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Application<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Contact the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs ,Lisa Burch-Windrem, EdD, Med, if you plan to submit an emergency fund application to the college.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Review Process<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Submit your request via Lisa Burch-Windrem for review.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Submit any required documents to support the request for funds (e.g., invoices). If additional information is needed, Student Affairs will notify you.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A review committee comprised of the college\u2019s executive leadership will review applications.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Allow up to five business days for review and processing of the request before access to emergency funds is provided.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If funds are awarded, write a thank you letter to the donor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>University Emergency Funding and Resources Washington State University offers financial support and resources for students in need, including emergency grant funding and referrals to a variety of campus and state resources.Eligible students can submit a Student Emergency Funding Request and may receive an emergence assistance grant of up to $500 per academic year.
