The U.S. Department of Education uses income, assets, and benefits reported on the FAFSA form to calculate the number.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3.0 Responsibilities\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Office of Student Experience (Student Affairs)&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4.0 Procedures\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Accepted Applicants\u00a0<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 1 \u2013 FAFSA Submission\u00a0<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>A FAFSA is required by January 31 of the enrollment year for any accepted applicant in the incoming class to be considered for a scholarship. While not required, once enrolled, students may submit a FAFSA by November 30 in subsequent years if their financial situation changes or if they missed the deadline in the prior year. Each year, the Scholarship Committee establishes a maximum level of SAI for accepted applicants in the incoming class to be eligible for a scholarship award. Students with SAIs above the maximum are ineligible for a scholarship.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 2 \u2013 Financial Aid Office Provides SAI\u00a0<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The Financial Aid Office provides SAIs for all accepted applicants to the Office of Student Experience (Student Affairs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 3 \u2013 Admissions Committee Scoring Data\u00a0<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The Admissions Committee determines a Committee Score for each interviewed applicant which incorporates the applicant\u2019s mission-aligned personal attributes and life experiences and forms the rank list from which offers of acceptance are made. The Committee Score for accepted applicants are provided to the Scholarship Committee by the Office of Student Experience (Admissions).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 4 \u2013 Determine Award Amounts\u00a0<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The Scholarship Committee uses de-identified SAIs and Admissions Committee Scores to determine and approve all scholarship awards. Scholarships are awarded in conformity with federal and state restrictions and consistent with donor intent.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Current Students\u00a0<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Scholarship Committee determines the appropriate criteria and procedures to award scholarships to current students. All scholarships are approved by the Committee and awarded in conformity with federal and state restrictions and consistent with donor intent.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Scholarship Status Upon Leave of Absence (LOA)\u00a0<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Annual scholarship awards are divided in thirds and disbursed fall, winter, and spring terms. If a voluntary or required administrative LOA is initiated after the start of a term and scholarship funds have been disbursed for that term, the student may keep the amount disbursed.
