Be a hero. Take action.
National student loan debt has surpassed $1.4 trillion, and medical students bear a larger than average portion of this burden. The dangers of debt are debilitating and pushing medical students to pursue specialties that leave our rural and underserved communities suffering. This calls for a special kind of hero!
You possess the power to transform; the superhero ability to generate opportunity with a single donation. This is a great power and a great responsibility. We invite you to transform into a heroic humanitarian, actively engaged in the debt relief of our medical students, so they can return to support and serve the communities where they are needed most.
As we are unable to meet in person this year, we made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Medvengers Gala that was planned for Friday, September 11th in Spokane. Currently we don’t have a confirmed date for when we can possibly reschedule, but canceling Medvengers doesn’t mean that our need for scholarship support goes away. Scholarship support is vital to the students we recruit so they can serve rural and underserved areas of Washington.
To help us fill the need that canceling the Medvengers Gala leaves, a generous community supporter has agreed to match all donations to the WSU College of Medicine Student Scholarship Fund this fall up to $125,000! We couldn’t be more thrilled and hope you will join us in this campaign. You can support student scholarships at this page: https://medicine.wsu.edu/give/.
Thank you for supporting Washington’s future doctors!
Medvengers: Join forces for good.
