Trey has worked in several statistics consulting offices over the past 8 years and assisted in a wide range of projects in the fields of psychology\, education\, nursing\, biology\, anthropology\, agriculture\, and veterinary medicine. He also has worked in many statistical software such as R\, SPSS\, JASP\, Mplus\, and LISREL. Floyd College of Medicine. This homecoming is deliberately scheduled for the morning of WSU’s Health Sciences Commencement Day so students\, faculty\, and staff can join to witness the remarkable strides these grads have made in their respective fields. The symposium will highlight their journeys\, research\, and contributions to the medical community\, especially in cancer care. \nJasmine Birch\, MD Class of 2024: Birch\, an alumnus of the Native American Health Sciences Program at WSU\, is currently a PGY1 general surgery resident at the Oregon Health & Science University in Portland\, OR. Her presentation\, titled “From Car Mechanic to Surgeon: Pathway Programs in Medicine and Health Care\,” will delve into her unique journey. Jasmine’s story is a testament to the transformative power of educational pathway programs at WSU in medicine and healthcare. \nCarly Celebrezze\, MD Class of 2021: Celebrezze\, a PGY4 general surgery resident at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington\, KY\, is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Stanford University School of Medicine’s Division of Pediatric Surgery in Palo Alto\, CA. Her talk\, “Disparities among Children with Neuroblastoma\,” will address the critical issue of healthcare disparities affecting children with pediatric cancers\, highlighting her research and advocacy efforts to bridge these gaps. \nAlexandre Veselle\, MD Class of 2023: Veselle\, a PGY3 orthopaedic surgery resident at Case Western Reserve/University Hospitals in Cleveland Medical Center\, OH\, will present on “Exploring Disparities in Osteosarcoma Treatment: Limb Salvage vs. Amputation.” \nJackson King\, MD Class of 2021: King\, a PGY4 otolaryngology resident at the University of California Davis Medical Center in Sacramento\, CA\, will discuss “Innovations in HPV-related Head and Neck Cancer Care.” \nNick Randall\, MD Class of 2021: Randall\, a PGY4 otolaryngology resident at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester\, MN\, will explore the topic “Who Gets to Smile? Examining Disparities in Facial Reanimation Surgery.” \nBrooke Willborg\, MD Class of 2022: Willborg\, a PGY3 plastic surgery resident at Mayo Clinic Rochester\, MN\, will present “Pediatric Pain after Limb Amputation: Advanced Nerve Techniques.” \nTanner Wright\, MD Class of 2022: Wright\, a PGY2 general surgery resident at the Nazareth Hospital Trinity Health System\, will discuss “Impact of Language Barriers on Surgical Outcomes in Minority Populations.” \nThe Health Impact Symposium will be moderated by Drs. Anjali Kumar and Jamie Kennel. The morning half-day will feature Keynote Speaker\, Dr. Caroline Behler\, a renowned oncologist and educator from San Francisco.
