SUMMARY:Attendance Policy Puzzle: Putting the Pieces Together
DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, April 17\n11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. PDT\nSMED Center for the People and Zoom\nJoin Lisa Burch-Windrem\, EdD\, MEd\, and Jared Cramer\, MEd in a discussion which will highlight the current pre-clerkship attendance policy\, focusing on the lifespan of an absence request; from when the request is made\, to how Student Affairs decides to approve or deny\, to how that information is shared with affected faculty and various departments. \nThey will break down the different categories of absences for the pre-clerkship students\, based on the most current attendance policy found in the student handbook\, discuss how the policy came to be\, who was involved in its creation\, and why it is needed. This is an opportunity to learn about the attendance policy in place for our current students\, not a time to suggest changes to the policy for future students. \nRegister
