SUMMARY:Smoking Cessation Training Workshop for Health Care Providers
DESCRIPTION:The smoking cessation training workshop aims to train health care providers with the skills to help patients who use tobacco quit at every encounter and in any setting. The workshop provides hands-on training\, giving participants the opportunity to practice their counseling skills using the 5As model (Ask\, Advise\, Assess\, Assist\, and Arrange). \n  \nDate: September 10\nTime: 8:45 a.m. – Noon\nLocation: WSU SCRS Court \n  \nThe workshop will be led by Kawkab Shishani\, PhD\, MSN\, a professor in the WSU College of Nursing. She is an expert in smoking cessation research with many years of experience in tobacco use prevention. She has trained health professionals and students across disciplines in the United States\, Oman\, Jordan\, Colombia\, and Uzbekistan. \nRegistration is free and open to all WSU medicine\, nursing\, and pharmacy students and faculty. Fifty slots will remain open until filled. \n  \nREGISTER
