The workshop provides hands-on training, giving participants the opportunity to practice their counseling skills using the 5As model (Ask, Advise, Assess, Assist, and Arrange).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Date:<\/strong> September 10<br \/>\n<strong>Time:<\/strong> 8:45 a.m. \u2013 Noon<br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong> WSU SCRS Court<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The workshop will be led by Kawkab Shishani, PhD, MSN, a professor in the WSU College of Nursing. She is an expert in smoking cessation research with many years of experience in tobacco use prevention. She has trained health professionals and students across disciplines in the United States, Oman, Jordan, Colombia, and Uzbekistan.<\/p>\n<p>Registration is free and open to all WSU medicine, nursing, and pharmacy students and faculty.
