He\u00a0is an established investigator with 25 years of research, teaching, and service activity, continuous NIH funding, and over 200 primary publications and book chapters (h-index, 67). His research focuses on understanding the cellular signaling mechanisms that regulate vascular homeostasis, and how disruption of \u201cnormal\u201d contributes to cardiovascular, cerebrovascular, and pulmonary vascular disease.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Minshall has trained hundreds of high school, undergraduate, medical, and graduate students, postdocs, residents, and junior faculty, and is currently funded to develop a patent on a new class of anticoagulant drugs. He has also chaired numerous committees and task forces for the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research, most notably IACUC and the Campus Research Board Basic Life Sciences review group, and directed the Research Resources Center, a conglomerate of 20 core facilities with 70 employees.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Minshall currently serves as Co-Lead for COM Team Science initiatives and Faculty Director of Clinical Translational Services and Resources for the Center for Clinical and Translational Science.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Richard Minshall, PhD, is a candidate for the Vice Dean for Research position at the WSU Elson S.
