{"id":29396,"date":"2024-01-05T11:49:10","date_gmt":"2024-01-05T19:49:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/medicine.wsu.edu\/news\/?p=29396"},"modified":"2024-01-05T12:45:32","modified_gmt":"2024-01-05T20:45:32","slug":"ciphers-professional-development-with-visiting-scholar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/medicine.wsu.edu\/news\/2024\/01\/05\/ciphers-professional-development-with-visiting-scholar\/","title":{"rendered":"CIPHERS Hosts Professional Development Sessions with Visiting Scholar"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The success of last year\u2019s CLIC Conference in Spokane continues to be seen across the WSU College of Medicine, and even around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Medical thought leaders from around the globe gathered for the <a href=\"https:\/\/medicine.wsu.edu\/news\/2023\/10\/13\/2023-clic-conference\/\">2023 Consortium of Longitudinal Integrated Clerkships (CLIC) Conference<\/a> in September. Under the theme \u201cAbundant Resilience: Flipping the Script of Health, Hardship, and Social Justice in Washington State,\u201d the conference offered speakers, small group discussions, debates, workshops, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hyun Bae Yoon, MD, PhD, an associate professor at Seoul National University College of Medicine, was among those in attendance. He was especially impressed with the conference topics around LGBTQ+ advocacy and curriculum, holistic admissions, and LIC curriculum and assessment. He expressed interest in incorporating the topics at his home institution in Seoul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/medicine.wsu.edu\/about\/departments-units\/ciphers\/\">CIPHERS<\/a> organizers made it happen for Yoon. They scheduled a day for Yoon to visit Spokane once again and meet with college faculty on the topics he requested.
