A receipt is considered inadequate if it does not properly show detailed information of the expense. This includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Date<\/li><li>Traveler\u2019s Name<\/li><li>Vendor Name \u2013 including location\/address<\/li><li>Itemization of charges<\/li><li>Total amount of charges<\/li><li>Payment showing the expense had been paid in full<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note: Confirmation emails that show the traveler successfully booked airfare, a hotel, a car rental, etc. are not adequate receipts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the traveler cannot obtain an adequate receipt, have them complete and sign an&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/policies.wsu.edu\/prf\/documents\/2017\/10\/95-20-receipt-affidavit.pdf\">Affidavit of Lost Receipt<\/a>&nbsp;and attach it to the expense line, along with the inadequate receipt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lodging and airfare that is submitted with an Affidavit of Lost Receipt will also need to have a bank statement or other proof of payment submitted along with the request.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Proper receipts are very important when submitting an expense report.
