Floyd College of Medicine\u2019s Family Medicine Residency Program in Pullman, has been awarded a 2025 <a href=\"https:\/\/lifestylemedicine.org\/scholarships\/\">Dr. Stephen Turner Residency Director and Faculty Scholarship<\/a> by the American College of Lifestyle Medicine (ACLM) and American Board of Lifestyle Medicine (ABLM). She is one of 15 recipients nationwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The program supports medical educators who are interested in integrating lifestyle medicine into graduate medical education. Lifestyle medicine is a medical specialty that uses evidence-based lifestyle interventions to prevent and treat chronic conditions, with an emphasis on optimal nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress management, social connection, and avoidance of risky substances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The momentum behind lifestyle medicine continues to build because forward-thinking leaders in medical education understand that real change starts with how we train physicians,&#8221; said ACLM Medical Director of Education&nbsp;Brenda Rea, MD, DrPH, PT, RD, DipABLM, Lifestyle Medicine Intensivist, in a statement. &#8220;This year&#8217;s scholarship recipients are answering the call to transform health care from the ground up\u2014by equipping residents with the tools to address root causes of disease and restore health, not just manage symptoms. Their leadership is vital to shaping a future where evidence-based lifestyle interventions are the foundation of medical care.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wsu-spacing-after--xsmall\">The scholarship covers the cost of training and certification in lifestyle medicine and prepares faculty to implement the ACLM\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/lifestylemedicine.org\/academic-integration\/residency-curriculum\/\">Lifestyle Medicine Residency Curriculum<\/a>. The curriculum equips residents with the skills and knowledge necessary to become board-certified in lifestyle medicine and to recommend evidence-based, lifestyle behavioral interventions for their
