Floyd College of Medicine faculty are representing the college through national leadership roles at the American Association of Medical College&#8217;s (AAMC) Group on Student Affairs, which aims to advance student services throughout students&#8217; time in medical school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Group on Student Affairs includes committees in the areas of admissions, student affairs, student diversity affairs, student financial assistance, and student records.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Assistant Dean of Student Affairs Lisa Burch-Windrem, EdD, MEd, has been appointed as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aamc.org\/learn-network\/affinity-groups\/gsa\/cosa\">Committee on Student Affairs<\/a> (COSA) Western Region Liaison. COSA serves as the group&#8217;s leadership and advisory committee, guiding national initiatives on medical student well-being, career advising, professional development, and the transition to residency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Disability Resource Professional Ranna Nash, PhD, has been appointed as the Western Group on Student Affairs (WGSA) Representative to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aamc.org\/learn-network\/affinity-groups\/gsa\/soar-committee\">Student Opportunities, Access, and Retention (SOAR) Committee<\/a>. SOAR work ensure all medical students have an equal opportunity to thrive at AAMC member medical schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nash and Burch-Windrem will serve three-year terms through November 2028.
