{"id":35228,"date":"2025-12-08T13:20:15","date_gmt":"2025-12-08T21:20:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/medicine.wsu.edu\/news\/?p=35228"},"modified":"2025-12-09T11:25:11","modified_gmt":"2025-12-09T19:25:11","slug":"wsu-vpn-update-campus-specific-portals-to-be-retired","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/medicine.wsu.edu\/news\/2025\/12\/08\/wsu-vpn-update-campus-specific-portals-to-be-retired\/","title":{"rendered":"WSU VPN Update: Campus-specific Portals to Be Retired"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Washington State University&#8217;s&nbsp;virtual private network (VPN) GlobalProtect will be updated on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2025, between 8:00 p.m. and 11:59 p.m. During this time, the VPN may be unavailable for up to one hour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What\u2019s Changing?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Starting December 18, campus-specific VPN portals will be retired:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/vpn.everett.wsu.edu\/\">vpn.everett.wsu.edu<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/sslvpn.spokane.wsu.edu\/\">sslvpn.spokane.wsu.edu<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/vpn.vancouver.wsu.edu\/\">vpn.vancouver.wsu.edu<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/vpn.tricity.wsu.edu\/\">vpn.tricity.wsu.edu<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>All users will now connect through one unified portal: <a href=\"http:\/\/vpn.wsu.edu\/\">vpn.wsu.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What You Need To Do<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>After the update:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>When connecting to VPN, enter <a href=\"http:\/\/vpn.wsu.edu\/\">vpn.wsu.edu<\/a> as the portal address.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click connect and sign in using your WSU credentials.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>If you try to use one of the old campus portals after December 18, the connection will fail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For any questions or concerns, please contact Crimson Service Desk at <a href=\"mailto:crimsonservicedesk@wsu.edu\">crimsonservicedesk@wsu.edu<\/a> or 509-335-4357<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wsu-spacing-after--xsmall\">WSU provides VPN access to departments and individuals who require secure remote connectivity to restricted university systems and data.
