The Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine\u2019s second-annual Student and Resident Research Day gathered learners from across the college in Spokane on April 24, continuing a new tradition of excellence in scholarship to improve health outcomes in Washington and beyond.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The theme of this year\u2019s event was \u201cResearch Relevance in Clinical Care,\u201d encouraging future physicians and other health care professionals to reflect on how research informs practice, improves patient outcomes, and drives innovation in health care. The event featured a keynote speech from Dawn Kopp, MD, MPH, vice chair for obstetrics and gynecology at the college.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than 80 medical students, graduate students, and residents showcased their work through poster sessions and an awards presentation. This year\u2019s event also included presentations from participants in the college\u2019s Nmryaqs pathway program<\/a> and from the WSU Voiland School of Chemical Engineering and Bioengineering, where undergraduate students collaborated with medical students to create new medical training devices<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
