Floyd College of Medicine and plans to establish a family medicine residency program in Moses Lake, Washington.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;To be able to provide that program here and bring doctors here to learn medicine, practice medicine,&#8221; Town told the newspaper. &#8220;It moves the organization to become a teaching institution, and it elevates the care we provide to this region.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Samaritan and the WSU College of Medicine were awarded a highly competitive <a href=\"https:\/\/medicine.wsu.edu\/news\/2025\/09\/09\/wsu-college-of-medicine-and-samaritan-healthcare\/\">Rural Residency Planning and Development Program grant<\/a> from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) last year to support the creation of the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wsu-spacing-after--xsmall\">The new family medicine residency will be the college&#8217;s third residency training program east of the Cascades, bringing more doctors to medically underserved communities.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wsu-cta \" >\n\t<a \t\t\t\t\thref=\"https:\/\/columbiabasinherald.com\/news\/2026\/jul\/22\/new-samaritan-healthcare-ceo-grateful-to-staff-patients-and-community\/\"\t\n\t\tclass=\"wsu-button  wsu-button--size-small\">\n\t\t\t\n\t\tRead the Article\t\t\t<\/a>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In a profile in the Columbia Basin Herald, Samaritan Healthcare CEO Alex Town highlighted the new hospital&#8217;s partnership with the Elson S.
