Floyd College of Medicine welcomed a new class of resident physicians and fellows to our Graduate Medical Education (GME) programs, where they will continue training in their chosen specialties while providing care to communities across Washington. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These 28 talented doctors\u2014including the college\u2019s first fellows\u2014joined the state\u2019s medical community last month from across the country and the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They bring a passion for serving rural and medically underserved communities to Everett, Pullman, and Spokane, where they will deepen their clinical expertise and prepare for careers filling a critical need for more physicians locally and nationwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Internal Medicine Residency Program\u2013Everett\u202f&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A partnership with Providence, the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/medicine.wsu.edu\/gme\/im-everett\/\">Internal Medicine Residency Program<\/a> currently has&nbsp;46&nbsp;residents serving&nbsp;thousands of&nbsp;patients&nbsp;at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett and a variety of&nbsp;clinical settings&nbsp;in Puget Sound.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wsu-spacing-after--xsmall\">The program&nbsp;matched with&nbsp;18&nbsp;new residents this year, its sixth class:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Emily Cleveland, MD<\/strong>, from Pace, communities on the Palouse:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Olesya Didyuk, MD<\/strong>, from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, graduate of the Poznan University of Medical Sciences Center for Medical Education in English, Poland<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Shaunicy Sturm, MD<\/strong>, from Las Vegas, Nevada, graduate of the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at the University of Nevada, Las href=\"https:\/\/medicine.wsu.edu\/gme\/critical-care-medicine-fellowship-everett\/\">Critical Care Medicine Fellowship<\/a>, a partnership with Providence, brought two fully trained physicians to Milltown to gain subspecialty training in caring for the sickest patients:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Alex Franke, MD<\/strong>, graduate of the Washington State University Elson S.
