The degrees can be in any discipline.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wsu-spacing-after--xsmall\">They must also have:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>A cumulative GPA of 3.0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A cumulative GPA of 3.0 in the PhD NEP prerequisite courses<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No grade lower than a C in any individual prerequisite course. (C- considered a lower grade than a C)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Prerequisites<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wsu-spacing-after--xsmall\">The following prerequisite undergraduate college courses are required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Exercise Physiology (for Combined and Exercise Physiology track)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nutrition (for Combined and Human Nutrition track)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>General Chemistry<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Organic Chemistry<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Biochemistry<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Physiology<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Generally, all prerequisite coursework should be no more than seven years old at the time of application. However, each situation is reviewed individually. The <strong>application deadline is January 31<\/strong> each year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"white-text\">\n<li>January 31 \u2013 Deadline for application submission<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>First two weeks in February \u2013 Applications screened for meeting overall and prerequisite GPA requirements; if GPA requirements are met, applications are sent to the Admissions Committee with the grades blinded.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mid-February \u2013 Admissions Committee reads and scores applications using a common rubric<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>End of February to early March \u2013 Interviews are conducted virtually and are rated using a common point system, the total of which is added to the overall application score<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Early to mid-March \u2013 Offers of admissions sent by email<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n    <\/div><\/section>\n\n<section  class=\"wsu-section wsu-width--full wsu-color-background--white wsu-spacing-after--none\"  >\r\n    <div class=\"wsu-section__inner wsu-width--content\">    \n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Apply<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Required Application Materials<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Choose the <strong>General Graduate Applications<\/strong> fall link.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Statement of Purpose. Suggested Guidance: Please provide a statement that introduces yourself and motivations for advanced graduate training. Summarize your undergraduate education and any graduate work you have done so far. Describe how your work or life experiences relate to your academic journey and your long-term goals, and how our program will help you achieve those goals. 250-500 words.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Research Interests Statement. Suggested Guidance: Provide a summary of your past or current research (e.g., what are the key questions in your research project? What did you find? Do you have experience with grant funding? Did your work lead to academic publications or presentations?) This statement should also describe your current research interests, even if only in general terms, and\/or which faculty in our program align with your interests or are engaged in research you may be interested in pursuing. 250-500 words.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Resume.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3 Letters of Recommendation.
