Like most physicians I was drawn to medicine by my love for science and the desire to give back to society through helping others. I have always had a passion for education which is probably the result of having multiple teachers in my family. These family members represented role models for me growing up and constantly demonstrated a passion for educating others. Medicine allows you to be a teacher everyday, as you must excel in the education of both patient and family if you are going to provide high quality care.

I enjoy hobbies that keep me active such as hiking, cycling, running and skiing. I also have a passion for soccer and currently play on 2 teams including one that is sponsored by our hospital system. I also enjoy spending time with my wife and 2 children.

Everett has an amazing medical community full of talented and dedicated providers. I am often amazed and humbled by the work of my colleagues. Our community also has an innovative spirit as we are constantly seeking to improve the care of the patients we serve. This innovation often results in our medical professionals being at the forefront of novel healthcare delivery models. However, the best part of practicing in Snohomish County is the patients we care for. They represent a diverse population, both culturally and socioeconomically which makes my job all the more rewarding.

I was raised by a family of educators and have always had a passion for teaching. If I had not choosen to pursue a career in medicine I would have been a high school science teacher, preferably biology.
