It is my great pleasure to lead this vibrant department, powered by exceptionally talented and devoted faculty, aspiring students, and dedicated staff. Our innovative educational programs, cutting-edge research, and community outreach provide optimal education and training for those in the field, including future speech-language pathologists and audiologists.
Our curricula and research address the physiological, neurological, behavioral, and psychological dimensions of normal and disordered communication across the lifespan. And our faculty members, whose expertise spans neurodevelopmental to neurodegenerative disorders affecting communication, are dedicated to the improvement of patient care through education, research, and practice.
Together with Eastern Washington University, through the combined University Programs in Communication Disorders cooperative, we manage the University Hearing and Speech Clinic as a training facility for students and as a healthcare option for the community. We’re also proud to collaborate with local and regional clinicians who support our offsite clinical education program to help students become independent practitioners.
