Research

My primary area of research focuses on evaluating the effect of safety net program participation on health indicators, with the goal of informing policies that target to reduce health disparities. Specifically, I am interested in understanding the impact of participation in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, WIC, school lunch program and Medicaid on food insecurity and maternal and child health. I have applied quasi-experimental methods to conduct my research, and have experience analyzing vital records, administrative and nationally representative datasets.
