Sleep and Performance Research Center hosts seminar on February 10

The Sleep and Performance Research Center will host Major Allison Brager, PhD, for the seminar “In Search of Super Soldiers.”

Major Allison Brager, PhD, Commander, Mobile Exhibit Company/US Army Recruiting Command will be presenting on the Spokane campus, or guests can attend on Zoom.

Major Brager, an Army neuroscientist, will discuss partnerships between the Army and WSU’s Sleep and Performance Research Center. This legacy of work spearheaded and sustained from the days when Dr. Belenky (College of Medicine Emeritus) was Colonel Belenky (Walter Reed Army Institute of Research).

The partnership research aims to understand the neurobiological substrates and mechanisms of resiliency to sleep deprivation. The work ranges from highly controlled clinical trials with caffeine supplementation to real-time measures of sleep and performance in the Southernmost austere destination of the world, the Belgrano II research station in Antarctica.
