Some updates to roles and responsibilities will take effect on April 1.

Dr. John Vassall will transition from his role as Associate Dean of Clinical Education – Everett to a new role as Senior Director of Leadership Faculty in the Office of Land Grant Mission and Community Engagement. In this role, he will recruit and support faculty for both the Leadership in Medicine and Healthcare (LMH) and the Master of Healthcare Administration and Leadership (MHAL) programs, teach leadership courses for both programs, provide support to the Dean for clinical faculty recruitment, and help create a community-facing leadership education program. Dr. Vassall has played an important role in leading our clinical campus location at WSU Everett and guiding our Everett cohorts of medical students through their medical education and clinical experiences. We are incredibly grateful for his service to the College of Medicine, as well as the outstanding work of the entire WSU Everett team, and are grateful our students will continue to benefit from John’s wealth of knowledge and experience in healthcare leadership and strategy. We look forward to his accomplishments in his ongoing work as a faculty member.

Dr. Jaime Bowman has been named Interim Associate Dean of Clinical Education – Everett. She will also continue in her role as Clinical Education Director, Family Medicine and will maintain her career advising portfolio and grant supported work with the family medicine residency network. A faculty member of the college since July 2018, Jaime has 20 years of family medicine experience, including rural clinical practice and various leadership roles in medical education including as the College of Medicine’s Director, Longitudinal Integrated Clerkship and, most recently, as Clinical Education Director, Family Medicine. We are eager to see Jaime’s continued leadership and accomplishments as she takes on this new role with the college.
