Medical Students to be Published in Military Medicine

Medical students Ryoma Nichols, Alex Pursel, and Daniel Evans

Military Medicine has accepted a qualitative research article co-authored by third-year medical students Ryoma Nichols, Alex Pursel, and Daniel Evans, along with their faculty advisor, Tina Lindquist, PhD. The research focused on the lived experiences of combat amputees as they transitioned to care in the VA system.

The team discovered that systems of care and support, as well as their own mindset, had a direct impact on the amount of pain the individuals experienced. The added support also impacted their mental health status.

A publication date for the article has not yet been set.
