Business Travel Tips: When to Add External Committee Members

The team in Business and Finance Services continue to answer some of the most frequently answered questions related to travel expenses. This article offers some context on when to add external committee members to your expense report.

External committee members include WSU students, candidates, volunteers, and academic affiliates. External committee members are only created to be used on expense reports to issue reimbursements for expenses incurred on behalf of WSU, including travel.

Students with an active employment record in Workday should only be created as external committee members when the travel or expenses incurred relate solely to their student status and not their position. Travel and expenses incurred relating to their employment position in Workday should be submitted using the Create Expense Report task of the Create Expense Report for Worker task.
