You may have access to many online libraries through your hospital affiliation, academic institution, and state licensure. These libraries may vary in their journal and database subscriptions.

Online Library Options

  1. Washington State University provides access to the Health Sciences Library through your WSU Network ID and password.
  2. Hospital libraries associated with partnering providers are listed and linked on the WSU Medical Faculty library guide home page. If you are affiliated with one of these hospitals, you can access both their library resources and ours.
  3. Washington and Oregon provide online library resources for licensed health care professionals.
  4. Public Health Digital Library provides state and local public health departments with access to library resources.

How to Facilitate Access to Multiple Libraries

Configure Google Scholar for up to five library holdings. At the menu in the upper-left corner select Settings>Library Links, type in an institution or hospital>search and save relevant options. If you are logged into a Gmail account, you can save this setting, otherwise you’ll have to reset it whenever you open Google Scholar. This will bring library link resolvers into your Google Scholar search from off-campus. HEAL WA is not part of this system.

Set up an NCBI account and list up to five institutions/hospitals as Outside Tools by selecting NCBI Site Preferences in the top menu of your account>Outside Tool, select libraries you have access to. Hospital libraries that participate in Outside Tool are listed on the Medical Faculty library guide home page. This will enable multiple link resolvers to display in a PubMed search when you login to your NCBI account. Once you have an NCBI account set up, you can log in under Washington State University by selecting “More login options.”
