Washington State University faculty and administrative professionals are receiving a 2% salary increase effective Oct. 1.

Funding for a 1.6% increase was provided by the Washington Legislature, with WSU contributing additional resources to round up the pay boost for thousands of employees across the university system.

Non-represented classified staff received a general salary increase of 3% as of July 1. The entirety of that increase was provided in the State of Washington’s 2023–25 operating budget.

Salary increases for employees covered by collective bargaining agreements will occur based on schedules set in their contracts.

In response to WSU’s request to Washington lawmakers for $4.9 million in additional funding to pay for its first-ever collective bargaining agreement with academic student employees, $2.5 million in new funding for fiscal years 2024 and 2025 was provided in this year’s state supplemental budget.
