Project Management

Project management at the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine is aligned with our goal of Continuous Quality Improvement. The team primarily works with offices and units to review and streamline workflows and processes in their areas. These projects range in scope, from connecting tools together for an individual to rebuilding the Leave of Absence (LOA) tracking system.

Objectives

  1. Operational efficiency: Streamline workflows, reduce duplication, and enhance collaboration across departments.
  2. Accountability and transparency: Provide clear metrics, regular reporting, and centralized documentation.
  3. Capacity building: Train staff in best practices to foster a culture of efficient project management.
  4. Strategic alignment: Ensure all projects contribute to institutional priorities and long-term goals.

Core Services

  1. Develop standardized project management frameworks, templates, and tools.
  2. Provide oversight for key strategic projects.
  3. Deliver training and support to project leads and teams.
  4. Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration and communication.
  5. Establish dashboards and reporting systems to track progress and outcomes.

Asana

The College of Medicine uses Asana as its project management tool. Resources, including templates and trainings, are available on the MedTech site. The project management team also supports users and teams across the College with integrating their work into Asana.
