Office of Student Experience

The Office of Student Experience (OSE) oversees aspects of applicants, student, and alumni experiences. The team provides administration and coordination across several offices and units dedicated to supporting these groups.

The OSE streamlines services that support students at every step of their educational journey, from the time they decide to apply to our programs (and even earlier!) to life after graduation as Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine alumni.

Admissions

The Admissions unit oversees the admission processes into the majority of the college’s education programs. This team leads the recruitment, interview, and selection processes to select each new cohort of students and provide information and guidance for applicants. They also engage in supporting pathways that have conditional acceptance into the MD program.

Alumni Engagement

To support students from all programs following graduation, our Alumni Engagement unit fosters continued engagement, support for post-graduate training needs, connections for becoming faculty, and other resources.

Student Affairs

The Student Affairs unit provides holistic student support to students in the MD program. This includes general student advising in the pre-clerkship and clerkship years, student programs, financial education, career advising, well-being programming, enrollment verification, and advocacy. This unit collaborates with the WSU Spokane Student Affairs Office’s Financial Aid and Registrar.

Student Learning Center

The Student Learning Center (SLC) provides individualized and cohort-level learning support to MD students during the pre-clerkship and clerkship phases, including coaching, as well as licensing exam preparation. The SLC collaborates with the WSU Access Center in support of students with accommodations.
