Ms. Nimley came to the United States from Liberia, West Africa, as a Lutheran Leader scholar through the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. She graduated from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1998. She holds a Master of International Relations degree in healthcare policy from the University of Oklahoma, Norman.
In June 2021, Ms. Nimley founded the Kansas Cross-cultural Collaborative LLC to create a safe space for discussion and learning that empowers participants to understand, value, and capitalize on the visible differences we share while deploying the principles of cultural agility for a healthy and thriving community.
She serves as the Health Justice and Belonging Strategist at the Washington State University Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine in the Office for Health Equity. Ms. Nimley has a strong interest in finding solutions to improve population health through reducing health inequities and empowering people to speak for themselves.
