Phoebe Jensen, MD

What inspired you to pursue medicine?
I grew up watching my father care for patients as a family doctor in rural Washington. I enjoy the combination of scientific inquiry and personal interactions that the field of medicine offers.

What are your passions and hobbies outside of work?
I enjoy birdwatching, hiking, cooking, reading and most importantly spending time with family.

What do you enjoy most about practicing in the Snohomish County and Everett area as well as its community?
Providence Everett serves a wide range of patients with diversity in socioeconomic status and culture. We see a wide range of disease processes and are able to provide high level care despite financial limitations.

What would you do if you hadn’t pursued medicine?
It is hard to consider this because medicine is such a wonderful career. There are so many avenues to pursue different interests. I enjoy education, administration, leadership and advocacy. I think I would have struggled to find an alternate career path that is so diverse and fulfilling.
