Dr. Samuel Schneider, DO, is the Medical Director at WSU Health, where he oversees the clinical programs for student health, outreach, and the Logan FamilyClinic.
Dr. Schneider is an osteopathic family physician who practices full-spectrum family medicine, excluding obstetrics, with particular expertise in musculoskeletal medicine, sports injuries, and the use of Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment for acute and chronic pain. He earned his medical degree from Western University of Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific, and completed his Family Medicine residency at the Oregon State University Cascades East Family Medicine Residency Program in Klamath Falls, Oregon. He has lived and worked in the Pacific Northwest throughout his medical career.
Prior to his current role, he served as Medical Director at Range Community Clinic in Spokane, Wash., where he helped build and lead mobile clinic programs designed to expand access to care and serve medically underserved populations. Much of his work over the past six years has focused on improving access to healthcare for migrant workers and immigrant communities across Eastern Washington.
Previously, Dr. Schneider was the Medical Director at Planned Parenthood of Greater Washington and Northern Idaho, where he played a key role in developing new primary care, behavioral eealth, and gender-affirming care programs. He has also served as a Assistant Professor at the WSU Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine for the past six years, teaching Clinical Skills and Medical Ethics. His contributions to medical education were recognized with the 2023 College of Medicine Excellence in Clinical Teaching Award.
Before entering medicine, Dr. Schneider was a co-founder and co-director of Plum Loco Circus, a one-ring, community-based circus in Seattle, where he performed as an acrobat, juggler, tight-wire walker, and clown. He is a graduate of Oberlin College with a degree in Religion. His interests include theater, music (piano and keyboards), whitewater rafting, mountain biking, skiing, cooking, and performing with his band, Whitewater. He lives in Spokane with his wife Jennifer, a paralegal, and their two sons.
