Students Collaborate with College of Medicine, WSU Everett for Blood Drive

WSU Everett blood drive

Students and alumni in Everett teamed up to host a successful—and life-saving—blood drive. The Associated Students of Washington State University Everett (ASWSUE), the WSU Alumni Association, and the WSU College of Medicine hosted the blood drive on Oct. 25 in collaboration with Bloodworks Northwest.

According to ASWSUE President Hollee Seaward, 24 people attended. The donors ranged from medical students, general students, Snohomish County WSU alumni, and even family and friends.

“WSU Everett is a small campus,” said Seaward. “Any event with more than 10 people is a success—so the blood drive was a hit.”

The blood drive was the first-ever ASWSUE event that served the greater community by supporting hospitals in the region. They look forward to partnering with Bloodworks Northwest again in the future.

“Serving your community means being there for one another through the ups and downs of life,” said Seaward. “Knowing that we saved lives by donating blood means everything to me.”
