Leila Harrison, PhD, the vice dean for admissions, student affairs, and alumni engagement at the WSU Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine, recently received a prestigious appointment. Harrison will serve as Chair of the Committee on Admissions (COA) for the AAMC Group on Student Affairs (GSA). According to committee leadership, Harrison’s appointment reflects the esteem of her colleagues and their confidence in her leadership skills.
As the chair of COA, Harrison will bring issues around medical school admissions to the forefront of various regional and national meetings, workshops, and conferences. Her appointment runs through November 2026.
