MD Students Present at 2024 SNMA Regional Medical Education Conference

Two WSU College of Medicine medical students had the opportunity to present their research at the 2024 Student National Medical Association (SNMA) Regional Medical Education Conference. The Region I conference happened in January at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine in Las Vegas.

Lily Mireles, a second-year medical student, presented on her community-based research “Craig the Colon at El Mercadito: Implementing a Culturally Relevant Colon Cancer Screening Awareness Tool” and was awarded second place.

Nikki Delgado, also a second-year medical student, presented her research with the Joslin Diabetes Center at Harvard Medical School on the “Impact of Stressful Life Events and Life Event Domains on Diabetes Management in Adolescents with Type I Diabetes.” Delgado received a first place award.
