MD Student Awarded Best Medical Student Poster at Pediatrics Conference

Ali Comfort, MD Class of 2024

Congratulations to fourth-year medical student Ali Comfort, who won Best Medical Student Poster at the Council on Medical Student Education in Pediatrics (COMSEP) 2024 conference in New Orleans.

“The annual COMSEP conference has provided an incredible group of mentors and foundation for my future pediatric medical education,” said Comfort. “A special thanks to Dr. Anderson, Dr. Martin, and Dr. Smith for the support of this project’s evolution and my growth along the way.

Comfort’s capstone project focused on acute care simulations in pediatrics. According to Chris Anderson, MD, FAAP, CEPS-PC, vice chair of pediatrics, her project resulted in a new curricular simulation offering at the college’s Virtual Clinic Center (VCC), which helps fill an important need in the curriculum.

Comfort will graduate from the WSU College of Medicine’s MD program in May and will start her residency in pediatrics at the University of Utah Health this summer.
