Faculty and Staff: Prepare for Commencement 2024

Faculty at 2023 Commencement

WSU Spokane’s Commencement Ceremony will occur on Friday, May 10, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the Spokane Arena.

Faculty and staff are invited to participate in the commencement ceremony to collectively celebrate the graduates from the WSU Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine, as well as the Colleges of Nursing, Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Education.

Faculty Processional & Platform Party

This year, faculty, along with the platform party, will lead all graduates into the commencement ceremony. Faculty will be seated in front of the stage and students in a special designated area to make seeing and engaging with the graduates accessible and easy.

The Platform Party will consist of senior leadership and those supporting the hooding of graduates. Members of the platform party will be notified separately and do not need to register for the faculty processional. The deadline to register for the processional passed.

Faculty Regalia Has Arrived

Any WSU Spokane faculty who ordered rental regalia from Herff Jones can now pick it up at the WSU Spokane Bookie. Your items will be available for pick up until the week of commencement.  It is recommended you pick up your regalia as early as possible to ensure the items you ordered are correct.

  • WSU Spokane Bookie Hours: Monday – Friday, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Academic Center (SAC), First Floor, 600 N. Riverpoint Blvd.

If there are any issues with your order, please contact Robin Schultz at 509-358-7860 or rschultz@bncollege.com.

All rental regalia should be returned within a week of our May 10, 2024 commencement ceremony.

Those in the faculty processional or platform party should plan to arrive at the commencement ceremony one hour early.

Commencement Volunteers

Commencement would not be a success without the amazing volunteers who put their talent and energy into helping with this large-scale event. All volunteers will receive a volunteer t-shirt, food, and beverage throughout the day, along with a post-event volunteer appreciation lunch. Volunteer hours will range from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Shifts will be available.

Program-Specific Commencement Celebrations

The College of Medicine has organized separate programmatic celebrations to take place during the week of commencement. These celebrations will provide a space for each program within the college to honor specific achievements and experiences. Faculty and staff are encouraged to attend.
