MD Student Presents at Society of Pediatric Anesthesia Conference

K Perrins, MD Class of 2025

A WSU medical student had the opportunity to present his research at the SPA-AAP Pediatric Anesthesiology 2024 meeting in Anaheim, California earlier this month. The conference is hosted by the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Third-year medical student K Perrins researched the use of Methocarbamol for pain management following posterior spinal fusion for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis. He conducted the research with Lloyd Halpren, MD, a pediatric anesthesiologist at Shriners Children’s Hospital in Spokane and De-An Zhang, MD, a pediatric anesthesiologist at Shriners Children’s Hospital in Southern California.
