Antonio Geter, a second-year medical student at the WSU Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine, recently completed a highly competitive summer fellowship program for medical students hosted by NYU Langone’s Ronald O. Perelman Department of Emergency Medicine and NYC Health + Hospitals.
Geter was one of only five medical students selected from across the country to participate in the month-long program, which took place in New York City. The program provides an in-depth exploration of emergency medicine and its subspecialties through a combination of didactic sessions, clinical simulations, and hands-on experiences as well as opportunities to connect with experienced physicians and mentors.
“It was a really great experience in a really wonderful city and I feel like the lessons learned there will help to shape me into a better physician in the future,” Geter said. “A special thank you to Mrs. Ellie Pena, Dr. May Li, and the entire team at NYU for this fantastic opportunity.”
