Registration is open for WSU Spokane’s November Wake Up With Research seminar, which will feature WSU researchers and collaborators from Seattle Children’s Research Institute presenting innovative approaches to pediatric health. The virtual seminar is scheduled for Wednesday, November 5 from 8:00–9:00 a.m.
Titled “Bridging Gaps in Pediatric Health: From Neurodevelopment to Immune Response,” the seminar will include two presentations:
- “Disparities in neurodevelopmental follow-up of high-risk infants in rural communities,” by Eka Burduli, PhD, from the WSU Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine’s Department of Community and Behavioral Health, and Brent Collett, SCRI, from the Center for Child Health, Behavior, and Development
- “Connecting childhood obesity to asthma: Investigating the impact of leptin on airway epithelial cell differentiation and viral immune response,” by Erica Crespi, PhD, and Kourtnie Whitfield, PhD, from the WSU School of Biological Sciences, and Jason Debley, MD, MPH, and Weston Powell, MD, PhD, from the Center for Respiratory Biology and Therapeutics
