Lensa Moen, a fourth-year medical student at the WSU Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine, recently presented her research at the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) Symposium in Orlando, Florida.

Out of a record 400 submitted abstracts, 55 were selected for podium presentations, including two of Moen’s.

“This achievement reflects the incredible mentorship and support I received from WSU faculty Dr. Kevin Michels and the broader WSU College of Medicine community who have shaped my training,” she said.

Moen presented “A Rare and Fatal Case of Giant Cell Myocarditis Presenting First as Orbital Myositis” and “How Many Oculoplastic Fellowships are Needed to Meet the Future Demand for Ophthalmic Plastic Surgeons in the United States for the Next 10, 20, and 30 Years?”
