WSU Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine Professor Dawn E. DeWitt, MD, MSc, CMedEd, MACP, FRACP, has been honored with the 2025 Louis N. Pangaro Medical Educator Award by the Alliance for Clinical Education, a multidisciplinary group that aims to foster cross-specialty collaboration in medical student clinical education. The award was presented in San Antonio this month at the AAMC Learn Serve Lead Conference.
Dr. DeWitt has advanced clinical education across three countries through innovative curricular design, interprofessional education, and mentorship that has shaped generations of physicians and health professionals.
“Dr. Dawn DeWitt has made outstanding, sustained contributions to undergraduate medical education in three countries…through innovative clinical curricula, scholarly publications, academic leadership…and especially through her own personal teaching across disciplines,” wrote nominator Louis Pangaro, MD, MACP, a practicing endocrinologist and professor at the Hebert School of Medicine of the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences.
