Nominations are open for Washington State University’s 2026 Health Sciences Excellence Awards, which recognize health sciences students, faculty, and staff who are advancing our mission through leadership, innovation, and service.
The deadline to submit a nomination is March 23, 2026. Submit a nomination online in one of the below categories.
Students
- Leadership Awards: Recognizes students for their leadership and academic contributions to WSU.
- Community Engagement Award: Recognizes a student who demonstrates meaningful impact in our communities through service-learning, philanthropy, and/or project-based initiatives.
- Legacy Award: Recognizes a graduating student whose influence and activities throughout their college career have had a lasting, positive impact at WSU.
Faculty
- Excellence in Interprofessional Education: Recognizes a faculty member who demonstrates leadership in interprofessional education and/or scholarship in collaborative teamwork that advances the health of individuals and communities.
- Excellence in Research: Recognizes a faculty member who shows innovation and impact in research and scholarship, while mentoring faculty and students as future researchers to improve community health.
- Excellence in Service: Recognizes a faculty member who exemplifies meaningful service to the college, campus, university, or community.
- Excellence in Teaching: Recognizes a faculty member who demonstrates excellence in teaching and mentorship of students as future healthcare professionals or researchers.
Staff
- Administrative Professional Award: Recognizes an administrative professional employee who consistently goes above and beyond their defined responsibilities to advance the mission of the university.
- Classified/Civil Service Award: Recognizes a civil service/classified employee who demonstrates initiative, innovation, and service-minded leadership.
Award recipients will be recognized at a reception on April 29, 2026, at WSU Spokane.
