Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine employees have until April 20 to submit a list of their assigned equipment to Business and Finance Services.
Under the direction of the WSU Controller’s Office, the college is conducting the University Asset Biennial Physical Inventory. Business and Finance Services requests that every employee, including student workers, report all inventory equipment assigned to you or located in your workspace, shared spaces, laboratories, and any other areas under your responsibility.
Instructions
1. View updated inventory criteria and equipment process.
Criteria for what assets to include in the inventory have been updated effective February 1, 2026. View the revised criteria to ensure your inventory is comprehensive.
2. Download the inventory template.
Download and save a copy of the Inventory Equipment – Asset Reporting Excel template from SharePoint below. Do not fill out the template directly in SharePoint. Use File > Create a Copy > Download a Copy.
3. Fill out required asset information.
- For each asset, provide the following information:
- Employee name
- Employee email
- Inventory tag number
- WSU property inventory tags are white with a six-digit asset number.
- Departmental inventory tags are crimson with a seven-digit asset number.
- Asset description
- Serial number (SN) or service tag number (ST)
- SN indicates Apple computers
- ST indicates Dell computers, monitors, dock stations
- Location of asset (campus, building, and room number)
Enter “None” for the Inventory Tag # if a WSU property or WSU department tag is missing.
4. Return your completed inventory list.
Once completed, email your Excel file to finance.medicine@wsu by April 20, 2026.
