Several undergraduate students from the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine’s Department of Speech and Sciences presented their work at WSU’s 2026 Showcase for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities (SURCA) in Pullman last month.

Please join us in congratulating Hallie Walsh, Erin Brouwer, Consuelo Munguia, Emma Lo, and Hailey Legenfelder on their scholarly projects. Their research topics included hearing loss, childhood speech disorders, supporting healthy aging, and communication after traumatic brain injury.

Assistant Professors Amy Kemp, PhD, CCC-SLP, and Katy Cabbage, PhD, CCC-SLP, served as faculty mentors on the projects.
