PDFs are a universal document format that many use for consistent file transfer between all types of systems. However, they require significant work to make accessible.

We recommend avoiding the use of PDFs, if possible. If you are required to use a PDF, learn how to use the accessibility checker in Acrobat with MedTech’s five-minute tutorial to learn how to remediate your file.

Do I need to make my PDFs accessible?

You are required to provide an accessible version of whatever documents you’re making available.
